Staff and Tech Support

We do not have an on-site caterer. Hirers can organise an external caterer and we are happy to provide recommendations. Please note that no heating facilities are available, however there is a kitchen available for use as well as refrigeration.

All exhibitions are expected to be open to the public Monday to Friday from 9am - 5pm, except where agreed otherwise during a launch/event.

The Hirer is responsible for supervision of the exhibition during opening hours.

The Centre Space allows two days to install an exhibition, and one day to bump out.

Exhibitions are to be scheduled to finish on the last Friday of the exhibition and must bump out on a Monday.

  • Openings are limited in size to no more than 100 persons.
  • Production and distribution of the invitation including RSVPs is the responsibility of the Hirer.

All marketing and promotion of any exhibitions and/or activities are the responsibility of the Hirer.

All events scheduled during the course of an exhibition and/or activity (other than a launch) must be separately agreed with the VU at MetroWest Coordinator and may be subject to separate event arrangements.

During exhibitions programmed by the VU at MetroWest Coordinator (if applicable) The Centre Space can be booked for other functions and events subject to them not impacting on the presentation of the works on exhibition or display.

VU provides an opportunity for a reduction or waiving of The Centre Space hire, by negotiation with the VU at MetroWest Coordinator. Hirers may be eligible for this reduction or waiving of fees if they are:

  • a bonafide not-for-profit organisation
  • A Footscray University Town coordinated activity.

If the Exhibitor/Hirer chooses to sell goods through their activity, it is their sole responsibility to manage the sales. VU does not take any commission on sales.

Any artworks sold during an exhibition will remain on display until the closure of the exhibition. It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor/Hirer to distribute any works sold once the exhibition has closed. VU takes no responsibility from any disagreement arising between Exhibitor/Hirer and the buyer as a result of the sale of any artwork.
