This unit describes the skills and knowledge to identify the attributes and behaviours sought by employers, the rights and responsibilities of employees and personal protective behaviours that support personal safety in the workplace.

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - reliable sources of relevant information.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - self management skills to conduct a self review of own attributes; - identify the ways in which different personal protective behaviours can be used in the workplace to support personal safety, and; - align appropriate solutions with potential workplace issues.
