Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - communication skills to gather and interpret information from Elders and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community members; - problem solving skills to analyse information and determine its impact on day to day life, and; - literacy skills to access and interpret information from written and/or digital sources.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - sources of information on Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and other cultures to enable information to be gathered and analysed; - cultural considerations related to the use of imagery, and; - different presentation formats to enable the most appropriate format to be used.
