Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - communication skills to work with a support person and to access information and advice; - self management skills to develop personal goals for independent living and seek support to achieve these; - problem solving skills to make decisions about areas for own self development, identify potential barriers, seek support and apply strategies to maintain personal safety and resolve conflicts within relationships, and; - interpersonal skills to participate responsibly in different relationships.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - features of socially responsible and protective behaviours to support respectful relationships; - sources of information and support for personal needs; - types of accommodation and their features, and; - importance of personal safety within relationships.
