Overview

The purpose of this module is to provide the participant with the skills and knowledge to
construct roof framing.

Assessment

For Melbourne campuses

• Comply with OHS legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice applicable to workplace operations.
• Comply with workplace/organisational policies and procedures.
• Communicate and work safely and effectively with others.
• Select and use the appropriate materials, tools and equipment for constructing roof framing.
• Set out and construct the roof frame for a hip and gable end roof including ceiling framing, outriggers, collar ties and roof battens.
• Set out and construct a pattern rafter.
• Construct a roof boat.
• Mark and cut rafter tails and outriggers to a specified length.
• Identify truss types and components.
