Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - work with others; - assess purpose and audience of a work; - develop a production plan and schedule; - liaise with industry professionals; - manage a range of editorial tasks; - edit a range of publication content, and; - draft a range of briefs.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - production processes; - editorial roles and duties in the publishing industry; - processes required to coordinate production of a publication; - legal issues in copyright, defamation and intellectual property, and; - publishing contracts.
