Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and procedures; - works effectively with others to undertake and complete the conduct of belly dump trucks that meets all of the required outcomes; - demonstrates completion of conducting belly dump truck operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion; - correctly positions the vehicle for discharging materials; - controlling the degree of gate opening and the speed of the vehicle during discharge; - controlling the discharge rate to spread load evenly, and; - identifying issues with vehicle equipment and makes minor adjustments.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - equipment safety requirements; - equipment operating, maintenance and cleaning requirements and procedures; - vehicle refuelling procedures; - complying with operational system; - start-up and shutdown procedures; - hauling procedures; - loading procedures; - changing work conditions, and; - systems and alarms.
