Overview

This unit explores personal development through self-reflection and self-care. It makes connections between self-awareness, purposefulness, goal setting and resilience relationships between self-development and improved health and wellbeing. With a focus on four particular skills – teamwork, communication, time management and problem-solving – students will examine how the development of personal skills can enhance health and wellbeing and increase opportunities for setting and achieving goals.

Assessment

For Melbourne campuses

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each units learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines.

Required reading

The qualified trainer and assessor will provide teaching and learning materials as required in the form of workbooks produced by the VU Polytechnic and/or via the VU Polytechnic e-learning system.
