Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - reading and interpreting routine information on written job instructions and standard operating procedures. May include simple drawings; - determining packaging requirements from safety, storage conditions, site and legislative requirements; - labelling packaged items; - handling and storing products; - using scanning devices, if required; - following oral instruction; - entering routine and familiar information on to proforma and standard workplace forms, and; - orally reporting routine information. Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - labelling procedures and standards; - storage and recording procedures; - use and application of personal protective equipment; - safe work practices and procedures, and; - hazards and control measures associated with production packaging.
