Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - reading and interpreting routine information on written job instructions, specifications and standard operating procedures. May include drawings for setting assembly stations; - following oral instructions; - testing and checking assembly station and outputs, and; - identifying worn and/or damaged components. Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - procedures to be followed in setting up assembly stations; - safety hazards associated with the assembly station and/or its setting up; - specifications applicable to the assembly station; - effect of various adjustments that can be made to the assembly station; - routine maintenance requirements; - effect of worn or damaged components on the operational requirements and specifications of the assembly station; - use and application of personal protective equipment, and; - safe work practices and procedures.
