Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - determine organisation operating systems (OS) requirements; - install or upgrade OS; - customise OS to user requirements; - manage and configure hardware devices, and; - manage and configure desktop.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - explain procedures and techniques involved in the installation and upgrade of OS; - explain procedures and principals involved in unattended OS installation, and; - describe OS configuration issues that may arise with hardware and desktop environments.
