Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - develop a project plan appropriate to the project objectives and the project proposal; - support the initiation, control and completion of a simple small-scale information and communications technology (ICT) project, and; - identify and apply requirements and expectations of a project according to the project plan.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - identify the different project-management and planning methods and tools; - explain the characteristics of technical teams; - describe the different methods of communication and communication styles, including interviewing techniques; - explain the organisational values, policies and processes that may be relevant to the project, and; - describe the risks associated with small scale projects including: cost; scope, and; timelines.
