This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to design, create and produce basic organisational documents using application software within organisational guidelines, procedures and policies.  It applies to individuals who need to use foundation information and communications technology (ICT) skills in a wide range of varying industry occupations.

Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - produce a workplace document using a range of features, and; - develop several workplace documents with minimal instruction on their design from end user or supervisor.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - identify features of application packages; - explain current business practices related to preparing organisational documents; - recognise industry standard input and output devices; - identify organisational documentation and style guides, and; - identify organisational storage and retrieval procedures.
