This unit describes the skills and knowledge to use angle properties, symmetry and similarity to analyse and draw 2D shapes and construct 3D shapes for workplace practices.  This unit applies to individuals who need numeracy skills at Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level 4 to undertake a vocational training pathway or workplace tasks.  This unit is designed for integration and contextualisation with vocational units to support achievement of vocational competency.

Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - draw 2D shapes and construct 3D shapes; - apply angle properties; - use symmetry and similarity in shapes, and; - use geometric instruments.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - properties of lines, angles, 2D and 3D shapes, and; - types of angles.
