This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage front of house services at venues during performances or events.

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - manage the following front of house services on at least two occasions: all aspects of preparing a venue; briefing and supervising staff; closing a venue; - resolve problems that typically arise in the context of managing front of house services, and; - work cooperatively with others. Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - suggest ways to address issues and challenges that typically arise in the context of managing front of house services; - explain operational procedures for the following front of house services: box office; cloakroom; food and beverage outlets; merchandising store or stand, and; - explain organisational policies and procedures.
