Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following performance criteria: - literacy skills to read, write and understand a variety of texts; and to edit and proofread documents to ensure clarity of meaning, accuracy and consistency of information; - problem-solving skills to deal with information which is contradictory, ambiguous, inconsistent or inadequate; - technology skills to select and use technology appropriate to a task, and; - research skills to identify and access information.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - key provisions of relevant legislation from all levels of government that may affect aspects of business operations; - organisational record keeping/filing systems, security procedures and safe recording practices; - organisational policies and procedures relating to distribution of workplace; information, and legal and ethical obligations, and; - research processes and strategies to identify new sources (online and print) of information and to use them most efficiently and effectively.
