About Wei Yang

Dr Wei Yang has an internationally recognised research track record in

She is the principal investigator for seven research projects funded by various government and industry bodies in both Australia and China.

Dr Yang has published over 60 papers in high impact international journals. She has received many awards for her high impact publications, including a recent CIBSE Napier Shaw Bronze medal awarded by Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, UK.

A study on the impact of household occupants’ behavior on energy consumption using an integrated computer model

Researchers set out to find answers by developing a holistic, integrated model including such things like the building enclosure, the mechanical systems, the external environment, the proportion of window opening, and the shading factor based on data collected from 270 households. They also took into account if the buildings were single and multiple units, as well as different heating and cooling methods. For the purpose of this study, the researchers focused on homes located in the city of Oshawa, Ontario.
