VU'S CHANGE OF PREFERENCE EVENT TROUBLESHOOT GUIDE
Thanks for joining us for VU’s Change of Preference virtual event. We’re sorry to hear that you are experiencing some technical issues on the site. We have prepared the following FAQs and answers that should resolve most technical issues so that you can get back to the Change of Preference virtual event.
I’M HAVING TROUBLE ACCESSING THE VIRTUAL EVENT, OR THE WEBSITE IS NOT WORKING THE WAY I EXPECT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
It is recommended that you use a desktop device/computer to have the best experience on the website.
The recommended browsers are:
- Firefox 76+ (Windows & Mac)
- Chrome 82+ (Windows & Mac)
- Safari 13+ (Mac)
- Microsoft Edge
The website makes use of embedded YouTube videos and other website technologies. Please ensure you have full access to the internet with a good connection.
If you still cannot access or experience the website properly, you can visit askvu.vu.edu.au and talk to our expert course advisers via live chat, phone or email. You can also email [email protected] with your question and one of our friendly course advisers will get back to you.
I DIDN’T GET MY PERSONAL URL BY EMAIL, HOW CAN I LOG IN?
Visit the Change of Preference event site at https://openday.vu.edu.au and choose the 'Already Registered' option, then 'Resend my PURL' option. Input your email and we will resend your personal URL to your inbox. Alternatively, you can choose 'Get Started' and complete the profile questions.
I’M ATTENDING A SESSION. HOW CAN I ASK THE PANEL A QUESTION?
You can use the live chat function to submit your question about the panel presentations you are watching and our expert staff members will answer right away.
Due to COVID restrictions we filmed all of our panel interviews, so these videos are not live streamed.
WHEN I RETURN TO THE SITE, MY BLOCK HAS DISAPPEARED, HOW CAN I GET IT BACK?
Your unique block is temporarily stored to your browser, if you have cookies enabled. Some browsers settings can stop cookies being saved and this means the website can't remember your experience.
You can link your Google account so that you can revisit your block at any time, from any device. If you logged in with your Google account, you should be able to retrieve it by logging in again.
If you didn’t log in using your social accounts and have cookies disabled, unfortunately we are unable to retrieving your block information. We hope that you will take the journey again, you might discover something new and exciting.
I CAN’T ACCESS LIVE CHAT
HOW CAN I START A NEW CHAT?
The chat platform is designed to continue your chat throughout the site so you can navigate to any page and maintain your conversation, your chat will time out after 20 minutes or so of inactivity. If you would like to chat to a staff member in a different department, that’s okay! Simply ask any one of our friendly staff members to transfer your chat to a different department.
AFTER REGISTERING FOR OPEN DAY, I’M GETTING EMAILS FROM A SUSPICIOUS EMAIL ADDRESS. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
