Advanced Diploma of Legal Practice 22565VIC, Bachelor of Laws

Thanks to an encouraging employer and support at VU, Marco Man’s diverse study pathway has led him from VCE to a Bachelor of Laws.

"I chose VU because its values were geared towards the western suburbs and the ethos of the University really resonated with me.

My favourite part of studying at VU has to be the staff. They are there to genuinely help me succeed. Everybody I have met is so happy to help – from the lady on reception to the unit coordinator.

I worked while studying and every day was a new learning experience. The challenges were constant but it also pushed me to work harder in my studies to understand the theory behind the work I perform daily.

I am undertook Bachelor of Laws while working in my role as PA to high-profile lawyer Robert Stary.

My path to where I am today was long, diverse and often interrupted with family commitments; but it did not deter me from reaching my goal. As a role model to my nine year old daughter, I was constantly reminded not give up when things were tough.

I didn’t know whether I wanted to study law but my boss really encouraged me. He gave me the confidence that I too can accomplish my degree if I put my efforts into my studies.”

Marco now works as a practicing lawyer at Stary Norton Halphen and a mentor at the College of Law.
