Congratulations to the Western Bulldogs on a heart-stopping 22-point Grand Final win against the Sydney Swans on Saturday!

As a proud Bulldogs partner, Victoria University joins the community in Melbourne’s west in celebrating this momentous occasion, 62 years in the making.

The Bulldogs showed incredible heart and sportsmanship until the final siren, led by skipper and VU student Easton Wood.

With outstanding play throughout, Jason Johannisen won the Norm Smith medal for best on ground.

In an ultimate display of Bulldogs generosity, coach Luke Beveridge presented his winning medal to injured captain and ‘spiritual leader’ Robert Murphy to the delight of the euphoric crowd. The fairy tale was complete, as the Bulldogs became the first team ever to take out the Grand Final from seventh place on the ladder.

Together with the incredible VFL Grand Final win; the women’s team taking out the Hampson-Hardeman Cup; and Luke Beveridge named Coach of the Year, 2016 was nothing short of the year of the Dogs.

Our partnership with the Bulldogs has helped cement our reputation as leaders in sport. We look forward to another successful year of working together in the west and continuing to make history in 2017.
