Victoria University has teamed up with Hume City Council to provide a major boost to learning opportunities for students in Melbourne's north.
In an Australian-first, the Hume Multiversity project will see Council "through its Hume Global Learning Village" partner with Victoria University, Deakin University and Kangan Institute to deliver a range of courses from satellite sites across Hume.
From semester one in 2013, Victoria University will deliver the Diploma of Business (Enterprise) from the Sunbury Neighbourhood House and the Hume Global Learning Centre in Broadmeadows.
"This partnership demonstrates Victoria University's ongoing commitment to residents of Hume City Council. The launch of our Broadmeadows and Sunbury sites represent the commencement of our Community Integrated Learning Program - centred around meeting the tertiary education needs of our outer-urban communities. We look forward to growing this program to provide a rich and flexible tertiary education experience for community members that may not be able to access large university campuses." said Vice Chancellor Peter Dawkins.
An information session will be held at the Hume Global Learning Centre Broadmeadows on 6 December 2012 at 9.30am. Please contact Emina Mesinovic on +61 3 9919 8854 to register.
