Volunteer to help at the Diwali in the West Festival

The International Student Support Team (ISS) are currently seeking student volunteers to help at the Diwali in the West Festival which is being held on Saturday 3 October at the Whitten Oval, 417 Barkly Street, Footscray.

This is an initiative to help raise awareness about Indian culture and celebrations to be part of our ever so multi-cultural society, Melbourne. The festival will incorporate a celebrity cricket match, fireworks, Bollywood Fashion parade, food stalls, sweets and a football clinic.

Volunteers will be asked to promote the event across the Western Suburbs prior to the day and also volunteer on the day. To show our appreciation of your support and contribution, we will provide you with a:

  • Certificate of appreciation from The Honourable Marsha Thompson, Member of Parliament
  • Learn how to conduct creative promotional market campaigns
  • Learn how to conduct meetings towards the lead up of an actual event
  • A t-shirt memorabilia to remember that you have participated to the success of the event
  • Free lunch

Interested students can email Nadike Edirisinghe on [email protected] with your full name and contact number.
