Samantha Cassar, a VU research student from the School of Sports and Exercise Science, and the Jean Hailes Research Group is currently conducting a study examining insulin resistance in women, with and without polycystic ovary syndrome. We are looking for women with polycystic ovary syndrome aged 18-40 years who do not have diabetes, are non smokers and within healthy weight range.
The study involves a medical screen, a DEXA and CT scan, blood tests, a treadmill exercise test, then an insulin clamp with muscle biopsies. The study will take place at Monash Medical Centre Clayton and Monash University Clayton Campus.
