Victoria University (VU) will be offering Chilean students the opportunity to study in Australia as part of a generous government scholarship program.
The Chile Bicentennial Scholarship (BECAS Chile) program is an initiative aimed at improving Chile's global competitiveness by strengthening the quality and scope of academic, professional and technical education.
VU is one of a number of multi-sector institutes across the country that is eligible to participate in the program.
Victoria University's offerings
VU is already offering a wide range of courses that meet the BECAS Chile Scholarship Program priority fields of study including:
Higher Education courses
- PhD and masters studies
- Graduate internship and fellowship programs
- Joint research programs
- English teacher training

English language courses
Students can also complete an English language course at VU English, depending on their needs, and the requirements of their chosen technical course.
Under the BECAS Chile program, the Government of Chile will:
- Meet the cost of living expenses for scholarships holders while they are enrolled in Australia.
- Fund tuition fees.
- Provide a round trip air ticket (economy) from Chile to the Australian destination for each scholarship holder.
- Fund English language training courses.
- Provide medical insurance.
