Changes to student email system underway

Announcement to students:

Migration of your student email to Outlook Live has begun. We expect your new mailbox to be available soon. Meanwhile, your e-mail is all still going to Hotmail, and you can continue to use Hotmail.

We'll let you know as soon as your new mailbox is ready. Your e-mail address won't change. You'll access your e-mail using your same user ID and password. After you get the email message notifying you that your new mailbox is available, please take the following steps:

  1. If you use Outlook, add your Outlook Live account to Outlook. Get more information on setting up Outlook 2007 at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=209703 (or Outlook 2010 at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=209704).
  2. Transfer your calendar information from the Windows Live calendar (https://calendar.live.com) to the Outlook Live calendar. Learn how at Transfer Calendar Data from a Windows Live Calendar to Outlook or Outlook Web App.
  3. If you've set up email forwarding in Hotmail, set it up again in Outlook Live. Learn how at Use Rules to Automatically Forward Messages to Another Account.
  4. If you've created contact categories in Hotmail, set them up in Outlook Live as distribution groups. Learn how at Create a New Distribution Group.
