Announcement to students:
Migration of your student email to Outlook Live has begun. We expect your new mailbox to be available soon. Meanwhile, your e-mail is all still going to Hotmail, and you can continue to use Hotmail.
We'll let you know as soon as your new mailbox is ready. Your e-mail address won't change. You'll access your e-mail using your same user ID and password. After you get the email message notifying you that your new mailbox is available, please take the following steps:
- If you use Outlook, add your Outlook Live account to Outlook. Get more information on setting up Outlook 2007 at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=209703 (or Outlook 2010 at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=209704).
- Transfer your calendar information from the Windows Live calendar (https://calendar.live.com) to the Outlook Live calendar. Learn how at Transfer Calendar Data from a Windows Live Calendar to Outlook or Outlook Web App.
- If you've set up email forwarding in Hotmail, set it up again in Outlook Live. Learn how at Use Rules to Automatically Forward Messages to Another Account.
- If you've created contact categories in Hotmail, set them up in Outlook Live as distribution groups. Learn how at Create a New Distribution Group.
