Two VU Bachelor of Business students will embark on an adventure of a lifetime through Asia and Russia as winners of a tourism industry project.
Ryan Green and Bridgette Meaden have been selected to represent travel company Vodkatrain as travel bloggers aboard the 3-week Trans Mongolian Railway, departing at the end of June.
From the palaces and gardens of Beijing to the historic city of Saint Petersburg – and Mongolia, Siberia and Moscow in between – the students will travel with locals and share their exciting journey via Vodkatrain's official blog and social media channels.
For Ryan, who finished his final exam in events management earlier this month, it's the perfect way to gain valuable industry experience whilst celebrating the culmination of three-years of hard work.
"I'm really excited to see Lake Baikal in Siberia and stay in a traditional Mongolian ger camp. Apart from exploring countries from a local perspective, it's a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience from the road."
The pair won the all-expenses paid rail journey following a class assignment, in which they were asked to produce a Skype interview with Vodkatrain's local tour guides.
You can follow Ryan and Bridgette's journey on the Vodkatrain blog from 29 June 2013.
