Victoria University has announced that it will fix fees at pre-Budget levels for all domestic undergraduate students who enrol this year.
VU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Dawkins said, “Today the Executive of the Senior Leadership Team decided to endorse the recommendation that we fix fees at pre-Budget levels for all students who enrol between 14 May and 31 December 2014, before fee deregulation begins on 1 January, 2016.
“As the University of Opportunity we see this as the right decision to make which ensures that domestic students who enrol in a VU course in 2014 will be able to complete their undergraduate course at the same pre-budget fee level.
“Victoria University continues to be committed to being excellent, engaged and accessible. By removing the uncertainty around university fees for students who are planning to study this year, we are demonstrating our commitment to accessibility.
“This decision will provide students with certainty around the financial commitment they are making to undertake their chosen course and also it will give the University time to make important decisions about our strategic response to the Government cuts outlined in the Federal Budget.”
