Victoria University has appointed Ms Brooke Young as Executive Director, University Marketing, Student Recruitment and Communications; she will take up the position in July.
Brooke has twenty five years experience in universities and has worked in the USA, UK and Australia, including a U21 staff exchange to the University of Nottingham's International Office. She has extensive expertise in international and domestic marketing, design and delivery of innovative student programs and services, change management, quality assurance and customer service systems.
Before joining Victoria University, Brooke worked at the University of Melbourne firstly as Executive Director of the Graduate School of Business and Economics and more recently as Director, Marketing and Commercial Engagement in the Faculty of Business and Economics where she was responsible for the leadership of marketing, communications and executive education.
Asked why she had taken up the new at role, Brooke said: "I am excited to join such a vibrant dual sector university. The opportunity to be involved in Victoria University's strategy for the future and make educational opportunities available to a diverse range of students is fantastic. The VU Agenda is squarely focussed on connecting students, employers, industry partners and community groups through its distinctive programs and services."
Brooke is a Certified Practicing Marketer with the Australian Marketing Institute and has held numerous service roles including Faculty Advisory for the University of Melbourne Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), and Professional Staff Representative on the University of Melbourne's Staff Equity and Diversity Committee.
In the new role of Executive Director, Marketing, Recruitment and Communications, Brooke will plan, direct and manage the University's brand profile and marketing consistent with the University's strategic direction. She leads the domestic student recruitment team and delivers marketing services to the University community.
