Victoria University's new Trades College building at Sunshine campus is now training apprentices and pre-apprentices to be expert in their chosen trade.
Every Wednesday from 23 January to 13 March 2013, new students, parents and industry representatives can come and have a look at the state-of–the art facilities and be taken on a guided tour.
Interested visitors can learn how to start or pathway into a career. Skill areas include carpentry, plumbing, bricklaying, electrical, engineering, fabrication, furniture and signs. This is a great opportunity to ask burning questions.
Teachers from trade programs will be available to give career advice and offer expert opinion.
The Trades College which has its hub at Sunshine Campus is focussed on the delivery of apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships where students meet the competency standards necessary for industry – and other programs highly tailored to industry and recognised for their innovative approach to skills development.
Media are welcome to attend any of the tours; it will be a great photo opportunity but please let us know that you are coming.
