Overland plays safe in friendly with international students

International students from Victoria University will join Victoria Police Commissioner Simon Overland, fellow police officers, fire officers and players from the Bushrangers Cricket team for a Harmony Cricket match at Footscray Park on Friday.

The event is part of the ongoing campaign by police, fire authorities and universities to promote international student safety.

The friendly match has been organised by Victoria University and Cricket Victoria as part of the Harmony Cricket initiative promoting good relations among people from diverse backgrounds. The game will feature several special guests, including George, the icon character representing the Think Before safety campaign, and Assistant Chief Fire Officer Andrew Zammit.

The Think Before campaign has been well received by students. It provides simple and clear safety information and encourages students to seek assistance from the authorities if they need it.
