Victoria University is calling for participants for an ongoing trial using acupuncture treatment to encourage weight loss.
The trial, being conducted by PhD research student Sarah Fogarty, has been running this year with some impressive preliminary results.
The first 24 participants lost a combined total of 67.7kg (an average of 3kg per person), with one participant losing 8kg.
Those on the trial lost a combined total of 110cm from their waist and 64cm from their hips. Individual participants recorded losses of up to 15.5cm from their waist and up to 8.5cm from their hips.
At least 10 more participants are needed for the third intake in July.
To be eligible for the trial you must be overweight or obese and in reasonable health (not on any medication, although asthma medication is okay) and you must be able to travel to St Albans during business hours. If would like to take part please email Sarah Fogarty at [email protected]
