New study reveals untapped tourism potential of international students

International students are a largely untapped market for Australia's tourism industry. There are over half a million international students in Australia but their travel behaviours are poorly understood.

Personal travel of international students within Australia generates substantial economic benefits and is supplemented by visits of friends and family from overseas.

Destination Melbourne together with Victoria University will present the results of a far reaching study which examines the relationships between International Educational Visitation and tourism.

The presentation by Professor Brian King and Sarah Gardiner will be followed by a panel discussion with special guests.
