Victoria University is proud to announce Dr Susan Alberti, AO, has been elected as the new Chair of the Victoria University Foundation.
Victoria University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Dawkins said, “Dr Alberti has been a Director of the Victoria University Foundation for a number of years.
“She takes over leadership of the Foundation at a time when the University is looking to celebrate the Centenary of the founding of Victoria University and the 25th anniversary of the formation of Victoria University itself.
“Dr Alberti is the co-founder and Managing Director of DANSU Construction and heads the Susan Alberti Charitable Foundation. A prominent businesswoman and active philanthropist, she has already generously committed to funding VU Achievement Scholarships through her foundation.
“Dr Alberti’s passionate support for health issues through her work with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and sport, through her work with the Western Bulldogs, and her passion for educational opportunity, means that her interests are keenly aligned with those of the University.
“The Foundation seeks to encourage philanthropic support for the University and Dr Alberti is committed to assisting the University provide the best possible support for its students so they can achieve true success.”
Dr Alberti said, “The Victoria University Foundation enables the University to respond to areas of immediate and greatest need. This ensures we can continue to provide support to students experiencing hardship and also support high achieving students through scholarships.
“I am committed to providing educational opportunity for students – it is about community, supporting and building successful communities. That is what is important to me. I hope I am encouraging other people to consider supporting these educational endeavours, because there's nothing more rewarding."
