National recognition for VU's teaching excellence
Victoria University (VU) has been granted a total $1.856 million in the 2009 round of the Federal Government's Learning and Teaching Performance Fund.
The Fund rewards excellence in learning and teaching for undergraduate students in Higher Education. It rewards universities under four disciplines: Humanities, Arts and Education; Science, Computing, Engineering, Architecture and Agriculture; Business Law and Economics; and Health.
VU's Vice Chancellor, Professor Elizabeth Harman, said: "VU has been recognised for its teaching and learning excellence across all four disciplines. This is a first for us - and is a great achievement for everyone across the University - and something we can all be very proud of."
"VU has also been recognised for its improvement across the four disciplines. This clearly demonstrates that not only do we strive to be excellent - but more importantly, that we do not rest on our laurels, but continually strive to improve, ensuring that we provide the very best teachers and learning experience for out students."
