If it's been a while since someone read to you, tomorrow's Summer Reading Relay at the forecourt of the State Library is an opportunity to get a fictional fix.
Up to 20 readers including comedian Catherine Deveny, writers Daniel Ducrou and Jack Cassidy and poets Kristin Henry and Paul Mitchell and Melbourne Writers Festival director Steve Grimwade, will read short stories from the The Sleeper's Almanac 6 anthology serialised in The Age earlier this year.
The Reading Relay, hosted by the State Library in partnership with Melbourne City Council and Victoria University, will finish with a panel discussion about the art of short story writing from 6-7pm.
Panellists include many of the readers plus 3RRR presenter Donna Morabito, The Wheeler Centre's Michael Williams and Victoria University teacher and writer Robert Corbet.
