Combined ANZBMS DEXA & Body Composition courses

Victoria University and ISEAL are please to have Nick Pocock and his team present the combined Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society (ANZBMS) DEXA and Body Composition courses.

This is the first time the hybrid course combining DEXA and body composition has been offered so it's an opportunity to not be missed.

This clinical densitometry course is intended for both practitioners and technologists. It covers the patho-physiology of osteoporosis, as well as the principles and practice of bone density and body composition measurement.

Program

Day 1 Saturday 3 December

8.20am-8.30am: Welcome /Course Overview

8.30am-9.30am: Radiation in bone densitometry

9.30am-10.20am: Principles DXA Measurement of BMD and Body Composition

10.20am-10.40am: Coffee Break

10.40am-11.30am: Introduction to Statistics for Densitometry

11.30am-12.30pm: Bone biology, Epidemiology (Osteoporosis Obesity Sarcopenia)

12.30pm-1.15pm: Lunch

1.15pm-2.15pm: Essential Anatomy / Interpretation of DXA

2.15pm-3.00pm: Essentials of Treatment of Osteoporosis

3.00-5pm: Workshop Day 1: DXA BMD Body Comp Scan Acquisition and Analysis . QA QC.

Day 2 Sunday 4 December

8.30am-9.30am: Pitfalls of DXA / LVA 0.45

9.30am-10.30am: Body Composition Indices Reporting and Reference Data

10.30am-10.50am: Coffee Break 10.50am-11.30am: Clinical and research use of DXA Body Composition

11.30am-12.30pm: Other Methods for Body Composition Testing

12:30pm-1.15pm: Lunch

1.15pm-2.15pm: QCT, QUS, Absolute fracture Risk, Trabecular Bone Score

2.15pm-3.00pm: Current Concepts Diet and weight gain. Exam details

3.00pm-4.30pm: Workshop Day 2: BMD Body Comp Scan Acquisition and Analysis. QA QC.
