Terrence Hallahan:

At Victoria University we have a strong focus on making students job capable and job ready. So our business courses are designed with input from the business community. Our classes are designed to reproduce a lot of what happens in the real world.

OUR BUSINESS STUDENTS LEARN IN THE WORKPLACE WITH OVER 300 WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING PARTNERS EACH YEAR

Terrence Hallahan:

In terms of working in teams, giving presentations, developing confidence and communication skills. VU is one of the pioneers in cooperative education orders, now termed work integrated learning, and what this does is give students the opportunity to spend time in the workplace.

So this gives students the opportunity to sort of try out their careers to find out what it's like working in the area they've chosen. It also gives employers an opportunity to look at the students and consider them for full-time employment when the placement’s over.

Many of the students who go on the work placements are offered positions at the end of the placement. Some when they finish their course or some actually begin working for the company and complete their courses part-time.
