Associate Professor Rufus Black
Council member - Deputy Chancellor
One of five Council Appointed members of the University Council.
Dr Rufus Black has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Politics from the University of Melbourne and a degree in moral theology from the University of Oxford where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.
He is currently the Master of Ormond College, the largest residential college of the University of Melbourne. As part of Dr Black’s arrangements with Ormond College he continues to provide strategic and organisational advice to large, predominately public sector organisations.
Prior to this appointment he was a partner of the management consulting firm McKinsey and Company.
Dr Black has been a Director of the law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth since 2010.
