Youth Partnerships Coordinator and Sessional Lecturer
Mel is a Youth Partnerships Coordinator and sessional lecturer within the College of Arts & Education Youth Work program.
Mel began working in the youth sector as a practitioner in the early 1990s, in local government youth services, then worked in non-government mental health organisations as well as outdoor adventure therapy programs.
Mel coordinated programs such as the Highpoint Youth Pilot Project and Bridgewater PCYC -Youth Service (Tasmania) and was the acting Youth Development Officer (Co-ordinator) Hobart City Council-Youth Services.
Mel has been working at Victoria University for the past seven years.
Mel is the Treasurer for the Youth Workers Association.

Worked in the youth work sector for 20 years, mostly based in Melbourne’s western suburbs and in southern Tasmania. Mel has predominately worked for local government and non-for-profit youth work agencies supporting vulnerable young people and communities.
