Dr Jeanne Carroll is a Senior Lecturer & Course Advisor of the Bachelor of Education (P-12) in the College of Education, teaching Positive Education, Education Research Methods and Mathematics Education.
Jeanne is particularly interested in the overlap between these three areas. She has developed and implemented a Master of Education unit on Positive Education, which is proving to be very popular with educators from wide ranging contexts including schools and universities from Victoria and overseas.
Jeanne is a past president of the Mathematical Association of Victoria, board member of the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers and convenor of the annual conference of the Mathematical Association of Victoria, which provides over 300 options for the 2000 participants who attend each year.
In 2012 she was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Citation for Programmes That Enhance Learning for advancing the university’s engagement with National University of Timor Leste (UNTL) through a collaborative pre-service teacher practicum with UNTL university English language students. Jeanne was also nominated by the Vice Chancellor as one of the top ten lecturers at Victoria University in 2012. This reflects her interest in working with students, teachers and university colleagues in local and international contexts in which English is a second language. She has worked in Bronx NY, doing professional development for teachers of Hispanic students, in remote Central Australia, Timor Leste, Vietnam and China.
