Dr Huai Liu is a Lecturer of Information Technology with the College of Engineering & Science. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Physioelectronic Technology and Masters of Engineering in Communications and Information Systems at Nankai University, China, in 1998 and 2003 respectively. Dr Lui received a PhD degree in Software Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, in 2008.

Prior to joining VU, Huai worked as a Research Fellow at RMIT University and a Research Associate at Swinburne University of Technology. Prior to working in Higher Education he worked as an engineer in the IT industry.

Dr Liu’s research interests include:

  • software testing and reliability
  • services and cloud computing
  • end-user software engineering for information systems.

Prior to lecturing in the higher Education sector, Dr. Liu worked as an engineer in the IT industry. He also supervised industry-based learning projects at Swinburne University of Technology from 2011 - 2013.

Dr Lui has conducted applied research in collaboration with industry partners, including ABB, Siemens, and Accenture.

He ahs served as a program committee member for international conferences, including SAC2011-2017, QRS2015-2017, and COMPSAC2015-2017, and has been a a core member of the organisation committees for international conferences including:
