Public lectures

 Composing Lives in Transition – Learning from narrative inquiries

Professor Clandinin, University of Alberta, Canada will give a lecture on using narrative inquiry to learn about peoples experiences leaving education.

Host: The lecture is being hosted by Victoria University's College of Education.

Special events

 Kirby Moot Court Competition (26–29 September 2016)

Website: Hon. Michael Kirby Contract Law Moot Court Competition.

This four-day annual competition is the largest moot court competition in Australia, and has been running since 2011. It is open to law students of Australian universities and law professionals, secondary school students and members of the public are invited to attend as judges, volunteers or observers.

Host: The moot is hosted by Victoria University's College of Law & Justice.
When: 26-30 September 2016 in Melbourne, Australia.

This seminar series provides students, teachers and the wider community the opportunity to learn about the latest topics and research in education. This year, in acknowledgement of Victoria University’s centenary celebrations, we are focussing several of these sessions on our alumni community.

 Game Changers conversation series (various dates)

Ideas that shape our world and the people behind them.

The Game Changers series comprises several events and presents pivotal concepts, personalities and moments in Australia’s evolving story for public discussion and debate. Each event is free and open to the whole community.

Host: These events are part of a range of Footscray Uni Town events & activities brought to you as part of the ongoing Footscray University Town partnership between VU and Maribyrnong City Council.

Governors-General lecture series

The Sir Zelman Cowen Centre at Victoria University’s College of Law and Justice hosts a lecture series honouring past and current Governors-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

VU Research Champion seminar series (various dates)

This seminar series is an opportunity to help build the research culture at VU and spread stories of success. The seminar speakers will talk about their research achievements, some of their most important learnings, share useful tips (and entertaining anecdotes) and advise how to succeed in finding research partners.
