Celebrating 110 years of Moving With Purpose

Thursday 8 October 2026

6:30pm until late

Melbourne Town Hall

In 2026, VU celebrates a 110-year milestone, and we’re marking this occasion with a signature gala that honours our past, celebrates who we are today and sets the stage for our future.

This special event will unite our community and celebrate all that is VU - students, staff, alumni, partners, community members, and key stakeholders - past, present, and future.

The evening will be hosted by ABC journalist, Michael Rowland and will be headlined by a keynote presentation from
The Hon. Dr Julia Gillard AC, 27th Prime Minister of Australia. The event will also feature our students and alumni, including a performance from the highly talented Fatai Veamatahau.

Proceeds from the Gala and related activities will be invested in equity and excellence scholarships, supporting and inspiring the next generation of VU students.
