Placements & Work Integrated Learning

We work closely with industry so that you can succeed where it counts: in the workplace.

Through placements you will gain practical work experience in a trade, industry or profession as you study.

The following pages tell you what to expect when you are on placement, explaining our expectations and requirements, and outlining your opportunities, including:

  • hours
  • location
  • uniforms
  • overseas placements.

Practical placements in vocational education

For courses offered through VU TAFE, it may be a requirement that you undertake a practical placement.

Practical placements enable you to put your learning into practice with the support of a qualified workplace supervisor.

VU TAFE will find a suitable host organisation for you to undertake your placement and will support you to prepare for success in your placement experience.

Depending on your course, you may need to provide evidence of a current working with children clearance (WWCC), a national police records check and/or an immunisation record before you can commence placement.

Further information about placements is available on relevant course webpages.
