Our program offers unique and free professional development opportunities to develop your leadership skills and help you stand out from the crowd.

Leaderships skills will help you develop professionally and boost your employability.

Conversations & connections

Conversations & Connections networking events feature a guest speaker followed by an opportunity to meet and network with other students with food and drinks supplied. All VU students are welcome.

Connecting Through Story with author Joe Bakhmoutski

How do you forge a deep, lasting connection with people you don’t even know? By sharing a real, authentic story that speaks to our shared human experience that helps you turn strangers into your champions. For this vital conversation, please join author, artist and health activist Joe Bakhmoutski, the author “Finding Hope in Times of Uncertainty: A Guide to Thriving in Challenging World of Today”, on finding your tribe and unearthing your story.

Leadership snacks: bite-sized learning

Leadership Snacks are a bite-sized (1 hour) introduction to a topic relating to leadership. Each month, an expert will explore a different skill or topic that will help you grow as a leader.

Attending will earn you 2 Leadership Activity points towards the LEAD Program.

Tuesday 30 April, 4-5pm, Sustainability – should businesses care?

Did you know that Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) 200 listed companies with robust and transparent Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures outperform their competition? Sustainability standards are increasing in Australia and companies are needing to identify and respond to their most material ESG issues and disclose their performance. 

Come along to this session, led by Amanda Visser, Head of Environmental, Social and Governance for ​PEXA Group, to hear how businesses tackling these challenges and how good practice brings long term value to companies and their stakeholders.
