New research projects available for 2012 applicants
Title: Building sports recommender systems
The provision of internet based advice for recreational athletes will have significant benefits for enhancing the health of Australians. Through the use of artificial intelligence and data mining we will develop web based recommender systems based on athletes goals and profiles.
Principal supervisor: Professor John Zeleznikow
Title: Data integration, enhancement and mining for collaborative adaptive health management
The proposed program aims to investigate the deployment of data and knowledge management paradigms in facilitating the theoretical and applied researches in health areas, covering data integration, data mining, knowledge utilization, exchange and dissemination, and decision making support in real applications.
Principal supervisor: Professor Yanchun Zhang
Title: Evaluation Techniques for Online Dispute Resolution Systems
Mediation, Conciliation and Arbitration are traditional techniques used in Alternative Dispute Resolution. We will use game theory and artificial intelligence to determine what techniques are most gainfully used in building dispute resolution systems which are placed on the internet. The development of such systems is vital for the continued use of business to commerce e-commerce.
Principal supervisor: Professor John Zeleznikow
Title: Real time and self adaptive stream data processing
This project will develop an original algorithmic and model solution for online stream data processing. Beyond the stream compression technique, it will develop novel optimal strategies on multiple continuous queries, efficient trends detection methods and integration.
