University Research Centres undertake ongoing research in fields that are recognised nationally and overseas. Our expertise and capabilities inform teaching and learning and provide real benefits to the community. 

Applied Informatics Research Centre (CAI)

The Applied Informatics Research Centre brings together expertise in informatics including e-research, internet and web-based services to develop innovative e-technologies that can be applied to almost every industry and sector.  

Australian Community Centre for Diabetes (ACCD)

The Australian Community Centre for Diabetes brings together existing expertise in diabetes and connects diabetes research activities by working with key health, community and education partner organisations. It aims to develop new approaches to diabetes prevention and management, and reduce diabetes-related disease in identified (or priority) communities where the rate of diabetes is high or increasing. 

Centre for Ageing, Rehabilitation, Exercise and Sport Science (CARES)

The Centre for Ageing, Rehabilitation, Exercise and Sport Science conducts multidisciplinary research on healthy individuals, as well as those with disabilities, illness and disease in an attempt to understand, maintain and improve human health and function across our lifespan.

Centre for Environmental Safety and Risk Engineering (CESARE)

The Centre for Environmental Safety and Risk Engineering undertakes research in fire safety and risk engineering for industry and government. that can be applied locally and overseas.

Centre for International Corporate Governance Research (CICGR)

The Centre for International Corporate Governance Research undertakes research and provides consultancy and advice to industry and government to improve governance in the private and public sectors.

Centre for Strategic Economic Studies (CSES)

The Centre for Strategic Economic Studies undertakes research in economic, technological and social change in the contemporary world in attempt to  understand the causes and consequences of change, and potential policy responses and structural change across the economy and in government.

Centre for Telecommunications and Micro-Electronics (CTME)

The Centre for Telecommunications and Micro-Electronics undertakes research and development in telecommunications and micro-electronic technologies with a focus on future wireless telecommunication services and micro-electronic systems.

Centre for Tourism and Services Research (CTSR)

The Centre for Tourism and Services Research undertakes research in hospitality, tourism and events in partnership with private and public sector organisations and industry associations. CTSR research underpins the sustainable performance of the industry while preserving the social and environmental effect of its activities.

Work-based Education Research Centre (WERC)

The Work-based Education Research Centre undertakes research and development to support innovation in vocational and work-based education at Victoria University and elsewhere.
