2015 I Plan a Business (iPAB) competition

Want to participate in the 2016 iPAB competition?

Victoria University’s annual ‘I Plan A Business' (iPAB) competition gives emerging student entrepreneurs the chance to apply their creativity and business skills to win amazing prizes.

This year, the competition is open to Year 10 and 11 students across Victoria and Vocational Education (VE/TAFE) students studying at Victoria University.

Business teachers whose students have participated in past years say iPAB is a great way for students to explore essential elements of the school curriculum in new and interesting ways.

My advice to competitors is to be creative, bring something new and sell it! After you have drafted your plan, ask yourself, 'would I invest in this?' said Jacqueline Healy, 2014 Best Business Plan winner

Past winners

Nearly 160 business students from secondary schools across Victoria entered the competition in 2014.

Multimedia project winner – Charlotte Morton

Charlotte on-air at SEN with Jason Cunningham.

Charlotte's winning business idea, Boadicea would sell jewellery for teenage girls, reflecting power, individuality and strength. These qualities were embodied by British queen of the Iceni tribe Boadicea, as she led her army into war in 60 AD.

The iPAB competition has made me much more confident to pursue my interests and continue my business management studies.

In addition to the cash prize, I won a visit to SEN radio station with Jason Cunningham.

Best business plan – Jacqueline Healy

Jacqueline’s innovative business idea, Rainy Mondays Work Gear and Outdoor Apparel utilises super hydrophobic coating technology, providing water resistance to withstand the test of the most rainy days.

Winning this competition has inspired me to continue studying business after school. By giving me a context to link all the business aspects I learnt in class, I scored A+ for the year!
