Unforgettable: A Memory Review

This event has already taken place.

Wednesday 3 June 2015

Join us at VU at MetroWest for a 'work in progress' performance by VU undergraduate students around the theme of memory.

This 'work in progress' showcases materials made and a performance developed by the students. Moving out of the confines of their usual Footscray Park studio, the students actively explore different spaces at MetroWest and have the opportunity to engage with the wider community.

The performance cycles through various repetitions of text, movement and song forms in different configurations playing with what is heard seen and remembered. The beginning and end points cycle through different paths and configurations as the material is explored. This means an audience can stay for as long as they like and feel free to move through the space and experience a different relationship and association to the material.

In much the same way that memory is not static this performance process explores how the material may change, develop or shift in focus. The students have drawn on their own personal memories and family histories as well as collating a range of materials relating to memory and its associations.
