Exhibition: The possibility of multicultural identity

This exhibition on the possibility of multicultural identity displays paintings by Chinese artist Dr Liu Xianghua.

Liu Xianghua’s abstract ink paintings explore the possibility of multicultural identity based on culture more than ethnicity through managing the external objective world and through inexhaustible self-reflection.

Opening night

The opening night is on Tuesday 28 April from 6pm - 8pm. No bookings required and all are welcome.

Join us for an artist talk on Tuesday 12 May at 1pm. No bookings required and all are welcome.

About the artist

Liu Xianghua, born in Hubei, China, in 1976, has a doctoral degree in art and design from Central Academy of Fine Arts. He has taught and researched art of China’s traditional garden and national environmental art for ten years at Minzu University of China.

The exhibition runs from 28 April - 14 May:

  • Monday to Friday, 8am - 6pm
  • Saturday, 9am - 2pm.
